B-Bond Granular Stabilizes Canal Sediments

B-Bond Granular was used to stabilize canal sediments before removal to a hazardous waste landfill.

As part of a USEPA PCB remediation project, B-Bond Granular was used to stabilize canal sediments before disposal. The area surrounding the remediation site included homes, businesses and a park. B-Bond Granular was the optimum stabilization agent for the project.

B-Bond was easily applied by track hoe via the use of bulk bags. Application of B-Bond Granular generated very little dust, which was non-hazardous to the workers and surrounding community. A low application rate reduced the overall volume of waste removed from the site, when compared to the typical rate required for the use of other options such as fly ash, lime or cement. Reaction time was rapid, reducing the time required to treat a given cell by days, thereby reducing labor and equipment costs.
